Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Genext Information Systems ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use DNSBenchmarkPro.com and the DNS Benchmark Pro tool (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Summary
DNS Benchmark Pro runs in your browser. The tests are performed client-side and we operate no accounts and no database of personal profiles. The significant privacy fact about this tool is not something we collect: running the benchmark makes your browser contact third-party DNS resolvers directly, and each of them sees your IP address. That is inherent to measuring your own network path, it is stated on the page before you start, and it is the main thing to understand here. The key points:
- We never request your location. As of 15 August 2026 the geolocation prompt and all third-party geocoding lookups have been removed from this site entirely, and geolocation is blocked at the server through a Permissions-Policy header.
- Benchmark calculations happen in your browser. We do not store your benchmark results on our servers.
- Advertising and analytics cookies load only after you consent via our cookie banner.
- We do not sell your personal information.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Location information
We do not collect location information. Earlier versions of this site asked for device location when you started a benchmark and, if granted, sent your latitude and longitude to a third-party reverse-geocoding service, with IP-based lookups as a fallback. All of that has been removed: there is no geolocation prompt, no coordinates are collected, and no request is made to any geocoding provider. The benchmark never needed location to measure a network path — it was used only to label the results screen.
2.2 What running a benchmark exposes
When you start a benchmark, your browser sends DNS-over-HTTPS queries directly to each participating resolver. Those providers are not our servers. Each one receives your IP address, your browser's user agent and TLS metadata, and the test name being queried, and may log it under its own privacy policy. We cannot see or control that. The test names are fixed fixtures under our own domain with a random label generated in your browser; they contain nothing about you, your device or your browsing. The list of providers contacted and links to each of their privacy policies are on the resolver comparison page. Results are held in the page and are never sent to us.
2.2 Technical and usage information
Like most websites, our hosting provider and the third-party services we call automatically receive your IP address, browser type, device characteristics, and timestamps as part of normal internet communication. If you consent to analytics, we may collect aggregated, non-identifying usage statistics (such as pages viewed and benchmark runs).
2.3 Cookies and similar technologies
We store your cookie-consent choice locally in your browser. With your consent, Google AdSense and analytics providers may set cookies and use similar identifiers. See our Cookie Policy for details and controls.
3. How We Use Information
- To operate the Service and display your DNS benchmark and recommendations.
- To measure response times between your browser and public DNS resolvers, at your request.
- To display advertising that helps keep the Service free (only with your consent).
- To understand aggregate usage and improve the tool (only with your consent).
- To maintain security, prevent abuse, and comply with legal obligations.
4. Third-Party Services
We rely on the following third parties, each governed by its own privacy policy:

5. Advertising and Google AdSense
We use Google AdSense to display advertising. Where you have consented:
- Google and its partners may use cookies and identifiers to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to our site and/or other sites on the Internet.
- You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized ads at aboutads.info/choices or youronlinechoices.eu (EU/UK).
6. Your Privacy Rights (US / California)
Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your personal information. Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), California residents have the right to:
- Know what personal information is collected and how it is used and shared.
- Delete personal information we hold about you, subject to exceptions.
- Correct inaccurate personal information.
- Opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not sell personal information for money; however, the use of advertising cookies may be considered "sharing" under California law, which you can decline via our cookie banner.
- Non-discrimination for exercising your rights.
To exercise any of these rights, email us at privacy@dnsbenchmarkpro.com. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law. If you are in the EU/UK, see Section 7.
7. EU / UK Visitors (GDPR)
If you access the Service from the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, our legal bases for processing are your consent (for advertising and analytics, and for contacting DNS resolvers when you choose to start a benchmark) and our legitimate interests (operating and securing the site). You may withdraw consent at any time via the "Cookie settings" link in the footer, and you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection. You may also lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
8. Data Retention
We do not maintain a database of your personal profile. Consent preferences are stored locally in your browser until you clear them. Logs held by our hosting provider and third-party services are retained according to their respective policies.
9. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in the EU/UK), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact privacy@dnsbenchmarkpro.com and we will take appropriate steps.
10. Security
The Service is served over HTTPS. While no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, we take reasonable measures to protect information processed through the Service.
11. International Transfers
The third-party services we use may process data in countries other than your own. Where required, these transfers rely on appropriate safeguards provided by those third parties.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.
